Last week, more farmers in Ijede (Ikorodu LGA) and Ibayeiku (Badagry LGA) communities in Lagos State benefitted from Conrad N. Hilton Foundation's transformative agricultural initiatives realized through the Building Sustainable Livelihoods for Vibrant Communities (B-SLiC) project implemented by Caritas Nigeria in Ekiti and Lagos States. The intervention was aimed at positively impacting their farming endeavours.
In keeping with the project's strategic objectives, our team equipped the farmers with essential agricultural inputs to boost their farm yields and ultimately contribute to agricultural development, enhanced food productivity, and economic resilience in the axis. The farmers, over 3,200 in number, received insecticide/pesticide sprayers and seedlings.
The distribution events were witnessed by key stakeholders, including the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, represented by Rev. Fr. Bassey O. Okoro, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Agriculture, Dr. Oluwarotimi Omotala, and Royal Fathers. Representatives from various government ministries, including Agriculture and Food Security, Local Government and Community Affairs, Youth and Social Development, and Women Affairs were also present.
