Since the introduction of the Integrated Health Approach in Imo State – a demand creation innovation of Caritas Nigeria aiming to ramp up COVID-19 vaccination in our Health/HIV program states – there has been a significant improvement in the ongoing vaccination drive in the region.

Leveraging this approach, our Imo State team recently visited communities, including watersides and hard-to-reach areas, in over 20 local government areas (LGA), where the locals received the COVID-19 vaccine and other health care and treatment services such as vital signs assessment and medications for chronic illnesses.

The outreach took place in Ihitte Uboma, Nwangele, Njaba, Isu, Orsu, Oru West, Oru East, Oguta, Ezinihitte Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Ahiazu Mbaise, Onuimo, Okigwe, Owerri North, Owerri West, Owerri Municipal, Ikeduru, Isiala Mbano, Ehime Mbano, Ideato North, Ideato South and Orlu local government areas.
