As part of Caritas Nigeria’s partnership strengthening efforts, Caritas Nigeria collaborated with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development of Abia State to organize a one-day Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program meeting with its stakeholders in Umuahia the state capital.

At the gathering, delegations from the judiciary, community-based organizations, local government areas, and traditional councils were acquainted with Caritas Nigeria’s 4GATES program activities, which include reinforcing existing stakeholder-level relations in the state.

While the stakeholders commended the efforts and achievements of Caritas Nigeria’s life-saving HIV intervention, they also pledged their support for improved identification and treatment of those living with the virus in the state. Worthy of mention is Caritas Nigeria’s recognition by community heads, who affirmed effective response to sexual and gender-based violence cases and significant support to out-of-school children, orphans, and vulnerable children in several communities.
