Relief Aid for Victims of the Boko Haram Crisis in the Northern
Listing Details
- Indirect-Sub-grantee
To address the emergency food needs of 2,950 beneficiaries in Askira Uba, Hawul, MMC, Jere LGAs of Borno State; as well as Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika, and Madagali LGAs of Adamawa State.
The reported bombings in Mubi North LGA and the apprehension of suicide bombers in a market square in Askira Uba LGA in March 2018 heightened security apprehension in the project locations and led to a modification of the project strategy to suit the situation.
Larger crowds were substituted for smaller numbers of persons and a low profile was maintained so as not to pose a soft target to the insurgents. This worked well for the project as no eventualities were recorded.
Also, in the upscale activities 4 LGAs (with 8 communities) namely Michika and Madagali in Adamawa state and Hawul and Kwayakusar LGAs in Borno state were added to the project.
