Our Vision

... a harmonious society where everyone enjoys fullness of life

It all began in early December 2019, when Jerry Eban Ndoe (not real name), a 28-year old man developed serious mental health challenges.

Over the next couple of days, he became agitated and constituted a huge risk and source of concern to his relatives and neighbours.

CARITAS Protection staff having been informed and working with the health partner on the project, made arrangements to get Jerry to the psychiatric unit of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, where he was admitted for immediate attention.

He was away for a month until January 15, 2020, when he showed up at the CARITAS Nigeria Field Office in Adagom Settlement, Ogoja looking well and hearty.

Beaming with smile and gratitude for his recovery, “I am well now and it feels good to be okay" he declared. “I have come to thank CARITAS and its staff for the role you all played in helping me get medical attention". According to him, the health partner took action on his case because Caritas Nigeria kept putting them under pressure over his case. .

“God bless CARITAS,” he finished off, acknowledging the surprise looks from the field staff.

“You do not know what you did for me.”
